The correct procedure depends on your employment arrangement, contract duration, and whether you are applying from inside or outside Peru.

Resident Worker
Generally applicable when the qualifying employment relationship meets the requirements for resident status. For an employment contract, Migraciones currently requires a term of at least one year for the resident-worker procedure. The authorized stay is 365 days and can be extended.
Temporary Worker
May apply when the employment arrangement is shorter, including certain contracts of less than one year. The current temporary-worker status allows up to 183 days accumulated within a 365-day period
To apply for the Peru Work Visa, both the applicant and the employer must provide documents.
Valid passport copy.
Employment contract signed with the Peruvian company.
Criminal record certificate from your country of origin or residence (apostilled and translated)
Completed Migraciones Peru application form.
Valid RUC (company tax ID).
Proof of company registration.
Labor contract signed and legalized at the Ministry of Labor.
Payment receipts for visa processing fees.
Your labor contract must be legalized at the Ministry of Labor and registered before submission to Migraciones Peru.
Every foreign worker must be officially registered for the contract to be valid.
Once registered, the application is submitted to Migraciones Peru, where biometrics (fingerprints & photo) will be taken and the visa approved.

The full application is filed through Migraciones’ digital platform.
Once approved, you must attend an appointment for fingerprints and photographs. After that, you will receive your Carnet de Extranjería (Peruvian foreign ID).
Visa fees must be paid to Migraciones Peru
Additional fees apply for apostilles, certified translations, and contract legalization.
The full process usually takes 2 to 7 months, depending on document readiness and Migraciones processing times.
You will be officially authorized to work with your Peruvian employer.
